Everything you save lands in one library: Pinterest boards, Instagram posts, archived pages, your own uploads and text notes. Here is how to shape it so you can find things again.
The Library page
Library in the sidebar shows everything you own in one grid. The controls along the top:
- Filter by type to show everything, only boards, only pins, or only archived pages.
- Sort by newest, oldest, title, or custom order. In custom order you drag boards into the order you want and it sticks.
- Search looks through titles, descriptions, tags, board names and source links, and reaches into the pins inside your boards.
- Grid or list view, with three thumbnail sizes.
Boards
Imported Pinterest boards arrive as boards. You can also make your own with New Board: give it a title, an optional description, and an optional cover image (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB).
- Rename a board with the pencil next to its title on the board page.
- Delete a board from the More actions menu on the board page. The confirmation tells you how many pins and sections go with it. This cannot be undone.
Sections
Sections are folders inside a board, exactly like Pinterest's. Imported boards keep theirs. To add one, open the board and press Add Section. Sections sit one level deep: a section cannot hold another section.
There are three ways to put a pin into a section:
- Drag the pin's tile onto the section tile at the top of the board. On a long board a drop bar rides up while you drag so you do not have to scroll back.
- The Move button on the pin's tile, which opens a list of your boards and this board's sections. This is the route on a phone.
- Select in the board header, tick several pins, then move them together. There is a select-all for the whole board.
Rename a section with its own pencil. The count in the board header includes the pins inside its sections, so filing a pin away does not make the board look smaller.
Notes and tags
- Notes as cards. Add Note on any board creates a text card that sits in the grid beside the pins. Good for a brief, a shopping list or a paint code.
- Notes on a pin. Open a pin and write in the Notes box in its side panel. It saves as you type.
- Tags on a pin. In the same panel, type a tag and press Enter. Tags are up to 32 characters and are stored in lower case. Click a tag to remove it. Search finds pins by tag across your whole library.
Your own images
Upload Images on a board or on the Library page takes JPG, PNG, GIF and WebP files up to 25 MB each, by drag and drop or file picker. Uploads mix in with imported pins and export with everything else. On the free plan each upload counts as one save, and deleting it later does not return the save.
Finding duplicates
The same image saved to three boards is easy to collect over the years. Duplicates in the sidebar scans your library and groups the copies. Exact matches suggest one copy to keep; look-alikes are shown with how similar they are and nothing in those groups is removed unless you mark it. Nothing at all is deleted until you confirm, and you can mark a group as Not duplicates to dismiss it.
Colour palettes
Press Extract palette on a board and PinSuite reads every image and builds the board's palette: the main colours with a name, a hex code and the share of the board each covers, the accent colours, a strip per section, and harmonies (complementary, analogous and more) built from the board's most vibrant colour. Click any chip to copy its hex code, or use the copy buttons to grab a whole set. Open a single pin and its own colours are in the side panel, with an Extract colors button for pins that have not been read yet.
Sharing a board
Boards are private unless you say otherwise. Open More actions on the board page and choose Share, then pick Unlisted: anyone with the link can view the board and its sections, with no PinSuite account and no Pinterest branding. Copy the link from the same dialog. If a link gets somewhere it should not, Generate new link invalidates the old one at once, and switching back to Private closes the page entirely.
Pulling in new pins
A board on Pinterest keeps growing after you import it. Paste the same board link on your dashboard again and choose Check for new pins. PinSuite adds whatever is new and removes nothing, so your notes, tags and sections stay as they were.
