# Archive a web page before it disappears

Recipes, tutorials, articles and product pages vanish or change all the time. PinSuite can keep your own snapshot of any public page, so you can still read it after the original is gone.

## Save a page

- On your dashboard, choose **Web page** above the link box.
- Paste the page's address and save it.
- The page appears in your library as a Web page tile. Capturing usually takes 10 to 30 seconds, and the viewer updates on its own when it is done.

## What gets kept

PinSuite captures the page together with its images and the files it needs to display, and stores them in your library. When you open the archive you are reading PinSuite's copy, not the live site. Now and then a picture the site no longer serves, or one from an advertising server, cannot be captured and is left out.

## Reading an archive

Open the tile to see the snapshot, with the date it was archived. Along the top:

- **View original** opens the live page, if it still exists.
- **Print** makes a printable copy of the snapshot.
- **Download .zip** gives you the snapshot and its files to keep on your own computer.

## Saving the same page again

If you paste a page you have already archived, PinSuite asks first. **Open the one I have** takes you to your existing copy. **Save a new snapshot** makes a second, separate copy and keeps the first, which is worth doing when the page has changed.

## Pages that cannot be archived

- Pages that need you to sign in, or that sit behind a paywall.
- Sites that block automated visitors.
- Addresses that are not public web pages.

When a capture fails, the archive says so and explains why if it can. The View original link still works. For images on a page PinSuite cannot capture, the [browser extension](/guides/chrome-extension) can save them one at a time with a right-click.

## Plans

Each archived page counts as one save, including a new snapshot of a page you already have. On the free plan that comes out of your 25 saves, and deleting an archive does not return it. Paid plans have no limit. Archives are private to you and cannot be shared with a link yet.
